What is ACE Charitable Legal Services, Inc.?
It is a Florida nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, which was officially formed in 2019, but because of COVID is just now getting started.
What services does it provide?
Basically, there are two services. The first is to provide legal services to those individuals and small businesses who cannot afford the exorbitant costs of attorneys. This will be done through volunteer attorneys and once it raises enough money to employ attorneys.
The second is to provide legal information to the public and present seminars to all the legal aid organizations and pro bono lawyers in the state of Florida. Presently, it is planning a day long seminar, for which there will be CLE credit from The Florida Bar on Saturday May 28 at the Orlando Airport Marriott Resort?
How is if funded?
Presently, the funding is from donations. The principal donation is from a group of attorneys who belong to ACE-JEDI, PLLC. If you are an attorney and wish to know about this organization, you can contact Randall Reder.
It is also planning a fund-raising event to be held at a convention scheduled on May 27-28 at the Orlando Airport Marriott Resort. There will be a cash bar and music by a rock and roll group called Silverback.
It is also planning several fund raising events for May 4th, which is becoming a nationally popular occasion referred to as “May the Force be With You.”
How can I help?
We are looking for new members. There is no cost. We just need a first name, last name and email address. This information will be kept private and will not be sold or given to anyone else. The purpose here is to build up membership so that eventually ACE Charitable will be able to ask Florida courts if it can appear as Amicus Curiae.
We are also looking for volunteers who can provide or donate services to assist ACE Charitable in reaching its goal of providing affordable legal services.
